IB Chemistry Revision Guide

A comprehensive, interactive resource aimed at conceptual mastery for the 2025 Specification.

What is IB Chemistry?

IB Chemistry is a rigorous, internationally recognized course that explores the composition, structure, and properties of matter at both the molecular and atomic level. From understanding how atoms bond to form complex molecules, to analyzing the energy changes that drive chemical reactions, this course provides a comprehensive foundation in one of science's most central disciplines. Students develop critical thinking, laboratory skills, and the ability to apply scientific concepts to real-world problems.

Career Pathways

A strong foundation in IB Chemistry opens doors to a wide range of exciting careers. Graduates pursue paths in medicine and pharmacy, developing life-saving drugs and treatments. Others enter chemical engineering, designing processes for manufacturing materials and fuels. The course also prepares students for careers in environmental science, addressing climate change and pollution, as well as biochemistry and biotechnology, working on cutting-edge research in genetics and molecular biology. Whether you aspire to be a forensic scientist, food technologist, materials researcher, or academic, IB Chemistry provides the essential skills and knowledge to succeed.
